Kits for capillary flaw detection NTC E'kspert JIS Z 2343, ASME V, WTP-1, etc.

Control samples for capillary flaw detection are designed to determine the quality of flaw detection materials and capillary control technology. CD samples have an artificial, single, dead-end crack with an opening width in accordance with a given sensitivity class.
The JIS Z 2343 test panel is used to compare the sensitivity of penetrants, one of which can be taken as an exemplary one. The set consists of 2 bronze plates measuring 100 x 35 x 2 mm, covered with a layer of nickel-chromium with artificial transverse cracks. Cracks are created by applying a bending (less often - stretching) force in a direction perpendicular to the intended direction of cracks.
The set of reference blocks No. 1 comply with the EN ISO 3452-3 standard and is used to determine the sensitivity of fluorescent and color penetrants and consists of four samples measuring 100x35x2 mm, coated with a nickel-chromium layer with a thickness of 10, 20, 30 and 50 microns. Transverse cracks are made in the NiCr coating, the ratio of the width of the cracks to their depth is 1:20.
Reference unit No. 2 (control sample) is manufactured in accordance with EN ISO 3452-3 and is used to control the sensitivity and washability of fluorescent and color penetrants. The panel consists of a plate made of X2CrNiMo alloy with a size of 12 x 12 x 3 mm, with a chrome-plated working side, which has four fields with varying degrees of roughness (Ra2.5; Ra5; Ra10; Ra15 µm), as well as five star-shaped defects of various diameters.
The test panel according to the ASME V standard is used to control the sensitivity of penetrants of all types and is an aluminum plate 80 x 50 x 10 mm, divided into 2 parts. By the method of thermal cracking, artificial defects are applied on both sides of the plate, small on one side and larger on the other.
Control samples WTP-1 and WTP-2 are designed to control the washability of fluorescent penetrants in accordance with the requirements of AMS 2644C. The WTP-1 panel is made of stainless steel measuring 152 x 102 mm with two parallel fields of medium roughness separated by a polished strip of 25 mm. The WTP-2 sample is made in the form of a pair of panels measuring 38x51 mm with the same roughness and is also used to compare the washability of two different penetrants.
The PSM-5 test panel (aka NR-5) is used to monitor the workflow of manual and automated capillary control lines in accordance with the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft TAM 146040 aviation standard. The PSM-5 panel is made of 2.3 mm thick stainless steel, measuring 10x15 cm. On the working side, the panel has a chrome strip with five star-shaped defects arranged as their sizes increase. The other strip is sandblasted and used to control the quality of intermediate cleaning. This sample also complies with foreign standards ASTM E1417, General Electric Specification P3NF2, NAVAIR 01-1F-16.
A set of examination samples for certification of capillary control are used for practical examinations of non-destructive testing specialists. The standard set includes 3-6 samples, each of which has characteristic surface defects detected by the capillary method, including thermal, grinding and fatigue cracks that occur during machining and defects along grain boundaries from long-term operation.
The capillary flaw detection kit is designed to detect surface and through defects in basic materials and welded joints according to sensitivity class 2 (opening width ≥ 1 microns). This kit is optimal for completing certified NC laboratories and meets the requirements for equipment for color capillary flaw detection. The kit is equipped with aerosol cans of the Nord-Test series from the company Nlling, which have the conclusions of leading materials science organizations on the possibility of using sensitivity classes I-III at temperatures from -5 ° to +50 °C.
